Challenge Spotlight...Week 4...

We are into our 4th week of challenges and it's so exciting to have you with us! Our lovely design team member, Tanisha, is the hostess for this week and she has challenged us to do paper piecing.

Tanisha has a blog, entitled, Life's Simple Pleasures. She is in the Navy and was just promoted to First Class Petty Officer. She has two little ones and it is surprising that she is able to fit in scrapping, not to mention she is co-owner to "If the Shoe Fits, Scrap it!" You can tell she has a love for crafting just by the work she does. Here's a few samples you haven't seen on TP.

Aren't these the cutest layouts? She is such a creative and talented young lady. It is just amazing how creative she is.

Tanisha is such a fun person with a lot of excitement and energy too. Just check out her blog and see what she's been doing...you'll see what a fun person she is! She's a treasure you'll want to get to know. I am so glad she is on the team with me.

REMINDERS.....
So if you haven't already entered the challenge, now is the chance to do so before we pick the winner and Top 3. You have until Tuesday, 12/15 at 6pm (PST).

PRIZES......
I have a prize to give away -- Judy-- because you were the first this time, you get a "secret" prize. I have a feeling it is something you will like. :) Please send me your snail mail so that I can post it tomorrow for you.

We definitely appreciate our followers. We'll be having a drawing at the end of the month just for followers! ;p We are also having a drawing for all those who've entered the challenges thus far. The third drawing will be for the Top 3 and the fourth drawing will be for the winners! Wow...I better get shopping! ;D

Wednesday's Week #4 Challenge

I hope everyone is having a great week with today being hump day! Getting ready for the weekend? Well, get ready for this week's challenge, which is hosted by the lovely Tanisha, who was just promoted to Petty Officer First Class! Woohoo!! She's movin' and groovin'!

Tanisha challenged us with "paper piecing." For those who are unfamiliar with this technique, it is simply piecing paper to the stamped/digital image instead of coloring that portion. You can, of course, paper piece an entire image if you so choose to do so. For this challenge, we just want to see some sort of paper piecing. Here's what the talented design team has made to help you get inspired:

TANISHA

LISA

LYN

JANIE

MICHELLE

FINK

TERRY

Some of the details on these cards are just amazing - take a closer look; we won't mind. ;D So grab your stash of papers and piece together a project (card, wall hanging, scrap page, anything you like) and post it on your blog. Come back to Mr. Linky and enter so that we can check out your craftiness. You can use any image you choose or you can use one of the freebies below:

Challenge Spotlight...

Today I want to spotlight our week #3 Challenge hostess: Lisa!

Lisa is the owner of the SophistiCat Challenge Blog, a fun blog where I love to play. There, you will find a bevy of talented ladies on the design team with wonderful and fun challenges to play along with. Lisa's own blog, Allissa Designs Cabin, is where I sat in the beginning when I came upon blogland (via another person's blog) and never left. I was so amazed by the beauty of her creations. They are so unique and it was those techniques I studied that helped me in my growth as a crafter. Here are some samples of her work that you haven't seen at TP's:

From there, you'll find the beautiful sentiment tickets I've fallen in love with at Allissa's Paper Town. I have a few samples to show you:

Aren't they the best? I love them. I don't always have the patience to stamp out a sentiment on a card and often it is crooked, so this was the best solution for me. I can print on card stock, patterned designer paper or whatever -- cut it out, adhere it and I'm done. She has ovals and vintage...just beautiful words - just perfect for any card. You can find more at her Etsy store - go take a look. There's a sentiment for everyone. ;D

Lisa is such a beautiful person and I am so happy that she is part of the design team here at Tellen's Place. She is truly a wonderful friend. ;p

REMINDERS:
**Our challenge ends tomorrow at 6pm (PST). The DT will choose a winner and Top 3.
**End of the month blog candy: all winners and Top 3 will be in this drawing
**2nd end of the month blog candy: entries in the challenges (so far, Anne H. & Christine are in this drawing)...hmmm...we'll add more names at the end of this challenge (numbers picked randomly).

Wow, I see it is going to be difficult to choose a winner and Top 3 again - look at those entries! Wow! :)

Don't forget our wonderful sponsor for this challenge: The Creative Cottage, who has a freebie for this month AND blog candy...yeah, get it while you can! ;D

Red and Pink -- Challenge #3

Good morning everyone!

First, I'd like to introduce a new member of our design team: Fink...she's our latest member, who has a fantastic blog and guess what - you're going to see more of her work here at Tellen's Place!

Now, Lisa has challenged you to do something with the colors red and pink. I see we already have Anne Harmon and Christine O off and running on this challenge! Woohoo!! Two great things all at once...ding, ding, ding...sounds like we need to give those two a prize! ;p You know the saying, "The early bird gets the worm..." Well, we're going to add your names to a special prize that we'll be giving away at the end of the month! So far, you're the only two in it! We'll add to it as the challenges go forward this month - so stay tuned!

Remember to have your entry in no later than Tuesday, December 8th! We are looking for projects with Red and Pink! We'll be voting on a winner and choosing our Top 3 at that time, so....

Happy Friday y'all!

Challenge Week 2: Pink and Red (Valentine's)

Hello fabulous crafters!

I'd like you to welcome a new Tellen's Place Design Team member: Michelle (MEG Bee Designs), a very talented crafter who has a blog filled with lots of crafty designs that will delight you. We're so happy to have her on our team! For this week's challenge:

Lisa, our beautiful and talented DT crafter is hosting this week's challenge:

Pink and Red...a Valentine's Day theme

What an awesome color combo! Lisa wants to see what you can do with these colors. She taunted the DT with this challenge and here's what we came up with:

JANIE

TERRY

I hope these will inspire you to join our challenge. We have a "freebie" for you to get you started but you are free to use any image you choose.

This week's sponsor is The Creative Cottage.

The winner will get to choose one of several digital kits as her prize. You know what's great about The Creative Cottage - these are so beautiful. I didn't think I could cotton to the idea of using digital papers but a blogger friend, Donna showcased so many lovely crafts, I just had to see for myself. I love it! If you wander over to Crafter's Delight, you'll see what I've done with some of these kits.

Right now, Tracy is giving a "freebie" of her own - go check out her blog and try it for yourself! PLUS, she is giving away blog candy - talk about a hefty prize...get on over there and check it out! :) Thank you Tracy for sponsoring our third weekly challenge!

Okay, to enter the challenge, make sure you post your project on your blog with a link to Mr. Linky of that project (not the entire blog so that it's easy to find it). Please make sure you post it no later than December 9th, 6pm (PST). The DT will choose a winner and the Top 3, which will be announced at the next challenge! Wow...that's a lot.

Followers...remember, we will have a special blog candy from the divine Lisa when we reach 100 followers. In the mean time, I will be having special "follower" prizes throughout the challenges because YOU are the reason for being here! ;p Happy Crafting!
